CAD Designer - Operations
Job Summary
In this position, you will be responsible for providing support to engineers by preparing detail drawings, layouts, sketches and diagrams using engineering drafting methods and procedures and computer-aided design equipment and software.
Essential Functions
- Design and prepare detail drawings and work plans from sketches, specifications, measurements, and observation.
- Work closely with engineers and manufacturing personnel to develop detailed designs that meet both functional and cost requirements.
- Perform basic computations to determine appropriate dimensions, materials to be utilized, and relationship of parts.
- Draw finished designs from sketches.
- Revise and adjust drawings and plans as needed.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Experience in assembly line design and EOL design (mechanics).
- Proficiency with 3D modeling using Unigraphics (preferred), Solidworks or a comparable program.
- Advanced math skills, including the ability to understand and apply concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Advanced computer skills, including the use of CAD software.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and sketches.
- Ability to interact effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
- Ability to solve problems in situations where minimal precedent and standardization exists.
Required Education and Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
1+ years related experience.
