Test Engineer - Rochester Hills, Michigan

We have a new opportunity in our Rochester Hills location for a Test Engineer.

In this position you will be responsible for providing testing of software development and electronics of new products and enhancement of existing innovative products for the automotive industry.

Essential Functions

  1. Create test plans based on requirements.
  2. Define requirements and analyze to determine feasibility within time and cost constraints.
  3. Develop associated specifications and documentation.
  4. Create test cases and test scenarios and perform related testing. Bench testing and HIL.
  5. Analyze test results and summarize for distribution to appropriate personnel.
  6. Investigate technical problems and recommend corrective actions to avoid recurrence.
  7. Assist in the implementation of new test systems
  8. Participate in large engineering projects by completing specific tasks.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  1. May perform other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  1. Advanced mathematical skills, including the use of logarithms and quadratic equations.
  2. Advanced computer skills, including the use of various software development tools and programming languages.
  3. Basic understanding of design parameters for electrical components.
  4. Basic understanding of hardware design.
  5. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and manufacturing quality tools.
  6. Advanced verbal communication skills, including group presentation.
  7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, supervisors, and employees.
  8. Ability to prepare complex written reports and other documents.
  9. Ability to comprehend complex verbal and written instructions.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field.
